ASUU UPDATE: STRIKE CONTINUES AS FG REACH AGREEMENT:

Hope was cut short again as the Thursday meeting was more of a Discussion than Meeting an Agreement.

the meeting which was held with Hon Gabriel Suswan as Government representative with members of the Academic staff Union of University, was a failure as FG failed to agree on the Rising Issues.

Although there were a lot of speculations that Asuu will put an end to the strike this week, after the meeting with FG. Dr Nasir Faggie said this will only come to place if the FG reaches reasonable conclusion onb Implementation of the 2009 Agreement.

Speaking to News men Yesteday, Dr Faggie Said the meeting was Inaugural as Hon Gabriel Suswan only expained how he was going to Act about the issue, I.e how is going to do his part in reaching an Agrrement with Asuu. (Suswan is the Chairman of the committer Representing Government on the Issue).

He Further said, Governor Suswan asked us to have a Sub-committee that will establish a working relationship with TETF and the Natioanl Planning commission in other to Acquire more information on the technical report that was submitted by the Needs assesment committee and on the basis of that, Project will be located and the Funding will be sourced for.

Following what Faggie has earlier said, that their decision will depend on what FG says or concludes, it is clear that there is no Improvement and the Nature of the Strike still stands, as the Meeting was Just a discussion on One aspect which is Funding. And however it haven't been implemented.

Speaking more he said; Members the ASUU
Said they will not call of Any strike as nothing have been reached between them and the Federal Government. "Any Meeting we are called for we will attend and give our members information Faggie said.

In conclusion, Dr Nasir Faggie said they will be on a hold and watch how Government carries out their plan on The First Issue on Table which is Funding. But for Now the Univeraities Remain on Strike
