The end of the road has come for two suspects in
Lagos State as they have been arraigned before an Ebute-Metta Chief
Magistrate Court, Lagos, on a four-count charge of kidnapping, stealing,
and conspiracy.
Okula Bamiwola, a 32 year old herbalist and
Whenayon Kikisuhu, 28, an “okada” rider, resident in Tande area of
Ajara, Badagry, Lagos, and Idojori, Ago-Shasha, in Ipokia Local
Government Area, Ogun State respectively, were charged by the State
Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
According to reports,
the suspects allegedly committed the offence in question on July 16,
2013, at about 2pm in Badagry, when one Timothy Wuse, 27, was contacted
by the accused persons for hiring of his motorcycle. The story took a
different dimension when Wuse’s whereabouts could not be ascertained
after the deal.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Clement
Okuoimose, the accused persons are also facing charges relating to
witchcraft and juju, adding “when Wuse and his motorcycle could not be
seen or traced, leading to the notion that the two accused persons might
have kidnapped him, the case was reported to the police at Badagry
division, before it was transferred to SCID for investigation.”
The prosecutor said the alleged offences committed
by the two accused persons contravened Sections 130, 269, 285 and 409 of
the Criminal Law of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011. However, when the
plea of the accused persons was taken, they pleaded not guilty to all
the offenses. The presiding magistrate, Mr. O. O. Olatunji, subsequently
granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000, with two sureties in the
same like sum.
The matter was adjourned till September 25, for mention.
